From Acre came one of those responsible for raising the level of Brazilian music in terms of creativity. João Donato, who left us in the early hours of this Monday, the 17th, was far from being a predictable artist. He had a 74-year career, where connections were diverse: from Tom Jobim to Astrud Gilberto, Dorival Caymmi, Eumir Deodato, and many others.

The musician, who exits the scene at 88 years of age, had been dealing with health complications for some time. Recently, he had a lung infection and was hospitalized with pneumonia at Casa de Saúde São José, where he had been since last week.

Thus, the work of the multi-instrumentalist musician, although vast, is not ephemeral. A source of pride for Brazilian music around the globe. João Donato's music cannot be forgotten, let alone set aside.

Which it is, because the work of the multi-instrumentalist musician, although vast, is not ephemeral. A pride of Brazilian music around the planet. João Donato's music cannot be forgotten, much less left aside.

Long live João Donato!
